It’s time to “Fall back into Activity” and register for fall and winter recreation programs. Registration for residents begins Tuesday, August 20 at 6 am online at www.milton.ca/register and walk-in registration begins at 9 am at Town recreation centres. Registration opens for non-residents two days later on Thursday, August 22.
A variety of new programs are being offered for all ages, including many returning favourites. Programs to keep children moving include Move More Sports, which teaches fundamental movement skills through games, and drills that focus on dodgeball, badminton, beach volleyball, cricket and more. Art programs for children and youth foster creativity and inspiration with painting, drawing, cartooning and performing arts. Active programs for youth include badminton and weight training. Adult programs include meditation and yoga to help relax and rejuvenate, active workouts with Zumba and bootcamp, and art classes to explore watercolours, photography and painting.
In addition to registered programs, a wide variety of drop-in programs are offered year round, including sports, skating, fitness, track cycling and swimming to keep the whole family active and busy. Moms and dads with preschoolers looking for opportunities to keep kids engaged can sign them up for one of the many pre-school programs. Youth can enjoy a Friday night out with their friends at the Funtastic Friday program. Older adults can try a variety of registered and drop-in programs offered at the Milton Seniors’ Activity Centre.
For program registration, visit www.milton.ca/register. Full schedules for drop-in programs are available on the myMILTON mobile app, available through the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
